科南特基于“全人类共同利益”的哈佛大学通识教育改革

【摘要】：科南特基于"全人类的共同利益"对哈佛大学教育中的不足进行反思并大刀阔斧地对其实施了影响深远的通识教育改革。科南特强调哈佛大学的培养目标:不仅仅在于培养一个美国公民,而是关注人类共同利益、具有国际视野的人;要培养一个能有效思考和表达、具备批判精神、广博的学识和精湛的专业知识、对全人类的文化和文明有普遍的了解,而不偏狭于某一地区、某一文明、对人类的共同利益和命运普遍关注的人。为了实现这一培养目标,他在哈佛任校长期间不遗余力地对哈佛进行了卓有成效的通识教育改革,即核心课程改革,此改革几乎成为了全球高等教育通识教育改革的风向标。现今,中国大学生未来就业、学习、生活不能仅局限于国内,而应以全球为背景,反思中国高等教育专业化带来的问题,大力推进高校通识教育改革,培养具有国际视野的年轻一代。科南特对哈佛大学的通识教育改革经验,对于深入反思中国的大学通识教育改革和提出应对策略具有重要的现实意义。
[Abstract]:Based on the common interests of all mankind, Conant reflected on the shortcomings of Harvard University education and carried out the far-reaching general education reform. Conant stressed Harvard's goal: not only to cultivate an American citizen, but to be concerned with the common interests of mankind, with an international perspective, and to cultivate a person who can think and express effectively and has a critical spirit. Extensive knowledge and exquisite professional knowledge have a general understanding of the culture and civilization of all mankind, and not narrow to a certain region, a civilization, the common interests and destiny of mankind are generally concerned about. In order to achieve this goal, he spared no effort to carry out a fruitful general education reform, the core curriculum reform, during his time as president of Harvard. This reform has become the vane of the global higher education general education reform. Nowadays, the future employment, study and life of Chinese college students should not be confined to China, but should reflect on the problems brought about by the specialization of higher education in China and push forward the reform of general education in colleges and universities. Cultivate a young generation with an international perspective. Conant's experience in the reform of general education at Harvard University is of great practical significance to reflect on the reform of general education in Chinese universities and to put forward countermeasures.
