技术进步与就业量的变化研究
[Abstract]:Schumpeter and Solo's outstanding contributions reveal the importance of technological progress in economic growth. For a long time, although almost all scholars have acknowledged that technological progress is closely related to employment, there are different views on the influence of technological progress on the amount of employment. This paper makes some tentative research on the relationship between technological progress and employment. Technological progress is a concept which is easy to produce ambiguity. In the first chapter, the introduction briefly introduces the concept of technological progress and some related concepts, and establishes the conceptual framework of this paper. The second chapter is the research methods and viewpoints of the relationship between technological progress and employment volume, including four sections: the first section introduces the impact of technological progress on employment and its main content. Unemployment has not existed since ancient times. Since the Industrial Revolution, it has been easy to associate unemployment with the application of technology. The study of the relationship between technological progress and employment in economics has both hierarchical analysis and specific aspects (contents). The focus of this paper is the change of technological progress and employment volume. The second section discusses the influence mechanism of technological progress on employment. From the dynamic change of employment volume in the process of technological progress, it mainly includes reducing and increasing. From the point of view of the adaptive change of economy's own mechanism, economists analyze the price effect, income effect and technology multiplier effect in the process of technological progress from the angle of compensation theory. The third section introduces three economic models for analyzing technological progress and employment volume change, macroeconomic model, new Austrian method and growth rate model, and the fourth section is a review of previous research views on the relationship between technological progress and employment volume. Scholars agree that technological progress will lead to changes in the structure of employment, but there are different views on the number of changes. Some scholars believe that technological progress leads to a decrease in employment, and some think that employment will increase. Of course, some scholars believe that technological progress has no real impact on the change of employment. The third chapter is the empirical analysis of the technological progress and employment volume changes in the United States. In this paper, the total number of employed people and the total employment time are used to express the labor input respectively. By analyzing the data from 1948-98 in the United States, we can find that there is a significant negative correlation between technological progress and marginal employment elasticity of employment growth. When measured by the number of employed persons and the total annual labor time invested time, The negative correlation mentioned above is different, that is, due to the decrease of weekly working hours, the reduction of total number of employed persons is more than the decrease of total working hours. The reason for the above difference is that the technological progress has promoted the reform of the employment system. Thus, to a certain extent, to ease the technological progress to replace the number of employment. On the other hand, this change in the employment system is also a distribution of technological progress benefits between employers and workers. The fourth chapter discusses the policy implications of technological progress and employment system reform to solve China's employment problems. By shortening the working hours and adjusting the working hours, the innovation of employment system promoted indirectly by technological progress can balance the contradictory relationship between technological progress and employment. The important enlightenment to solve China's employment problem is that redistribution of technological progress welfare and active reform of employment system can alleviate the pressure of employment in China to a certain extent. Such phenomena as "weekend" and "Golden week" illustrate this point.
