论张伯伦实用主义的帝国理想与实践

【摘要】：约瑟夫·张伯伦是19世纪晚期英国著名政治家,其实用主义帝国理想与政策在英帝国的历史中留下了浓墨重彩的篇章。他认为帝国是英国的历史遗产,后辈们有责任发扬光大;帝国以感情维系,如身体之手足,不能分离;帝国是利益,是英国强大的保证。因此,他采取了一系列实用主义的措施,发展殖民地经济,试图挽回帝国的危机。布尔战争后,他致力于建立关税同盟,试图通过效仿德国统一的办法,挽救帝国。张伯伦的帝国理想反映了英帝国后期面临的困境,也表现了英国政治家为重新振兴帝国所做出的努力。
[Abstract]:Joseph Chamberlain was a famous British statesman in the late 19th century. He believed that empires were the historical heritage of Britain, and that later generations had a duty to carry forward them; that empires could not be separated by feelings, such as physical Brotherhood; that empires were interests, and that Britain was a strong guarantor. As a result, he adopted a series of pragmatic measures to develop the colonial economy in an attempt to salvage the imperial crisis. After the Boer War, he tried to build a customs union and try to save the empire by emulating the unification of Germany. Chamberlain's ideal reflects the difficulties faced by the late British Empire and the efforts made by British politicians to revitalize the Empire.
