鸠摩罗什翻译思想考辨

【摘要】:鸠摩罗什(343-413)是我国历史上的著名僧人和译经大师,与南北朝时期的真谛(499-569)以及唐代的玄奘(602-664)并称为“中国佛经三大翻译家”。在这三人中,鸠摩罗什的影响最大、译著最多,其翻译理论是中国翻译理论的重要转折点。可惜的是,鸠摩罗什翻译理论至今未形成系统。究其原因,主要是因为他的传世材料很少。其理论大多零散地出现在其弟子及后来学者的文章中。因而,后人对鸠摩罗什翻译理论的研究存在着很多缺漏,甚至是断章取义。 进入21世纪以来,研究鸠摩罗什翻译理论的学者越来越多,有关的学术论文也越来越多,但不可否认,其中良莠不齐。可以说,对于鸠摩罗什的翻译理论这一课题研究依然不具备系统性和完整性。因而,本论文题目定为《鸠摩罗什翻译理论考辨》,在收集史料以及相关文献的基础上,首次从四个时期全面总结前人对鸠摩罗什翻译观的研究成果。这四个时期分别是东晋南北朝时期(312-589)、唐宋时期(618-1279)、清末至中华民国时期(1840-1949)、新中国成立(1949)到至今四个时期。每个时期都记录了或鸠摩罗什弟子或其友人或后来的学者专家对鸠摩罗什译事的评价。基于此,本文作者提出,鸠摩罗什的翻译思想应包括三点:翻译标准,翻译文体和读者反应。此外,本篇论文还厘清了三个一直以来颇有争议的问题,一是鸠摩罗什的译本是否属于新译;二是鸠摩罗什是主张直译,意译还是走折中路线;三是在中国,鸠摩罗什是否是提出翻译文体观的第一人。经过论证,鸠摩罗什的译本属于新译,但最早提出翻译文体观的并非是鸠摩罗什,而是道安(312-385)。此外,本篇论文发现可以从翻译教学以及译者素质这一角度来研究鸠摩罗什,但这一点有待其他学者或者有兴趣从事鸠摩罗什翻译研究的爱好者进行考证。 总而言之,本文总结了就是在总结前人对鸠摩罗什的研究成果,厘清了其翻译观点,以期囊括鸠摩罗什的翻译理论,从而使中国古代翻译理论得以补充,并为中国当代翻译理论的走向提供可鉴之资。
[Abstract]:Hatotomushi (343-413) is a famous Buddhist monk and master in Chinese history. He is called "the three great translators of the Chinese Buddhist scriptures" along with the true meaning of the Southern and Northern dynasties (499-569) and Xuanzang of the Tang Dynasty (602-664). Among the three, Hatotomushi has the greatest influence and the most translated works, and his translation theory is an important turning point in Chinese translation theory. Unfortunately, Hatoorosh's translation theory has not yet been systematized. The main reason was that he had very little material to pass on. Most of his theories appear scattered in the articles of his disciples and later scholars. Therefore, there are many gaps in the study of Hatoamorosi's translation theory, even out of context. Since the beginning of the 21st century, more and more scholars have studied Hatoorosh's translation theory, and more related academic papers have been published, but there is no denying that the good and the bad are intermingled. It can be said that the study of Hatoorosh's translation theory is still not systematic and complete. Therefore, the title of this thesis is "the textual Research on Hatoyama's Translation Theory". On the basis of collecting historical data and related documents, this thesis summarizes for the first time the previous research achievements on Hatoyama's translation view from four periods. These four periods are the Eastern Jin and Northern and Southern dynasties (312-589), the Tang and Song dynasties (618-1279), the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China (1840-1949), and the founding of New China (1949) to the present. At each stage, the comments of the Hatotrosh disciples or their friends or later scholars and experts on the translation of Hatotomorosi have been recorded. Based on this, the author suggests that Hatoyama's translation thought should include three aspects: translation criteria, translation style and reader's response. In addition, this paper also clarifies three controversial issues, one is whether Hatoyama's translation belongs to New York, the other is whether Hatoyama advocates literal translation, free translation or compromise; and third, in China. Whether Hatoderos is the first person to put forward the view of translation style. It is proved that Hatotomushi's translation belongs to New Translation, but it is not Hatoamorosh who first put forward the translation stylistic view, but Dao an (312-385). In addition, this thesis finds that Hatoyama can be studied from the perspective of translation teaching and translator quality, but this point needs to be verified by other scholars or enthusiasts who are interested in Hatoshi translation studies. In a word, this thesis summarizes the previous researches on Hatoorosh and clarifies his translation views in order to include Hatoshi's translation theory so as to supplement the ancient Chinese translation theory. It also provides a guide for the trend of contemporary Chinese translation theory.
