反书传统、反左书与“透明之石”的过度阐释——《中国古代艺术与建筑中的“纪念碑性”》献疑

【摘要】：在艺术史研究领域,巫鸿《中国古代艺术与建筑中的"纪念碑性"》一书的重要性已经毋庸赘言。不过其所带来的争议也堪称无以伦比,贝格利教授甚至长篇累牍地对全书展开过尖刻的批评。若以《中国学术》2000年的发表为坐标点,抛开人格攻击的激烈言辞,贝氏批评与作者辩护二者,几乎以一种互文的方式,定格了世纪之交中国艺术史研究领域的高峰对决。本文讨论与质疑的重点,主要针对该书第五章"透明之石:一个时代的终结",从"反左书"历史原境入手,再由楷书上溯,考察甲骨文以来汉字书刻历史中的反书传统,进而分析"透明之石"中的过度阐释现象。由于透明之石并不曾"透明","一个时代"无法终结在南朝,本文还将涉及有关"阈界点"的判断以及"纪念碑性"的收束时间问题。
