图里翻译规范理论视角下张谷若《无名的裘德》汉译本研究

【摘要】：20世纪70年代，随着翻译研究领域“文化转向”的出现，翻译研究逐渐转向语言、社会、文化等因素对翻译活动的影响及制约。作为描写学派的代表人物之一，图里于上世纪80年代提出翻译规范理论，主张将翻译活动置于当时的译入语社会与文化背景之中，以此来探讨影响翻译过程中译者选择和决策的规范。图里将翻译过程中体现出来的规范划分为三种，即初始规范、预先规范和操作规范。通过对这三者之间联系及互动的论述，图里将研究重点转向译入语文化对翻译行为及翻译作品的作用及影响上。有着“东方哈代”之称的张谷若，以其匠心独运的翻译技巧及地道的译文被视为“译界的楷模”。本文试图以图里的翻译规范理论为视角，运用描述研究范式，分别从初始规范、预先规范和操作规范三个方面探讨翻译规范对张谷若翻译《无名的裘德》的影响。通过结合张谷若翻译时的时代背景，本文具体分析了在翻译规范运作下，张谷若的翻译目的及其选择及决策过程，如译前采取的宏观策略，对原文本和译本语言及风格的选择及具体翻译技巧的运用等。研究发现，在初始规范影响下，，为使译本顺利进入译入语文化，张谷若在翻译前采取了整体上倾向于译入语文化的策略；在预先规范影响下，在原文本的选择时，张谷若充分考虑了当时的译入语社会文化的需要，意识形态的要求及预期读者的期待；在操作规范影响下，为使译文顺应译入语语言文化规范及目标读者的阅读习惯，张谷若采取了附注，四字格和文言文等翻译技巧。本文以图里翻译规范理论为理论框架，为《无名的裘德》中译本研究提供了一个不同的研究视角，同时为今后类似文本的译本研究提供了借鉴和重要参考。
[Abstract]:In the 1970s, with the emergence of "cultural turn" in the field of translation studies, translation studies gradually shifted to language, society, culture and other factors affecting and restricting translation activities. As one of the representative figures of the descriptive school, Tuli put forward the theory of translation norms in the 1980s, and advocated that translation activities should be placed in the social and cultural background of the target language at that time. This paper explores the norms that influence the translator's choices and decisions in the process of translation. There are three kinds of norms in the process of translation: initial specification, prespecification and operational specification. Through the discussion of the relationship and interaction between the three, the focus of the study is on the effect and influence of the target culture on the translation behavior and the translation works. Zhang Gurou, known as "Oriental Hardy", is regarded as a model of translation for his ingenious translation skills and authentic translation. From the perspective of Touri's translation norms theory, this paper attempts to explore the impact of translation norms on Zhang Gurou's translation of Jude the unknown from three aspects: initial norms, pre-norms and operational norms, using the descriptive paradigm. Based on the background of Zhang Gu-ruo 's translation, this paper analyzes his translation purpose, his choice and his decision-making process, such as the macro strategies adopted before translation, under the operation of translation norms. The choice of the language and style of the original text and the translation and the application of specific translation techniques. It is found that under the influence of the initial norms, Zhang Gu-ru adopted the strategy of the overall orientation of the target culture before translation, and under the influence of the pre-norms, when the original text is selected, in order to make the translation enter the target language culture smoothly. Zhang Gu-ru fully considered the social and cultural needs of the target language at that time, the ideological requirements and the expectations of the intended readers. Under the influence of the operational norms, in order to make the target text conform to the target language and cultural norms and the target readers' reading habits, Zhang Guru takes translation techniques such as notes, four characters and classical Chinese. Based on Touri's normative theory of translation, this paper provides a different perspective for the study of the Chinese translation of Jude the unknown, and provides a reference and an important reference for the study of similar texts in the future.
