文学翻译中译者主体性和潜在读者美学接受之研究

【摘要】: 20世纪七十年代开始,翻译学思潮兴起,与日益繁荣的文化学一起促成了翻译研究的文化转向。自此,译者的主体性研究成为当代翻译研究的热点话题。国内外学者纷纷著书立说,研究论述翻译者在翻译过程中所发挥的作用。学界关注的焦点也从文本中心研究转向了翻译主体性研究,从原语中心论转向译语文本论,从较为单纯的源文与译文的比较性研究转向对于翻译过程中各主体作用的发挥及相互协作的较为复杂的过程性研究,尤其是译者作为翻译过程中这一最具创造性的主体所呈现的主体性作用。 本文在前人研究的基础上,致力于强化突出翻译活动中,尤其是文学翻译活动中,译者这种创造性作用对译文和译文读者所产生的关键影响,提高译者在这类文本跨文化交流活动中的地位,把译者放在一个与源文作者并列的位置上,并且认为译者的主体性作用应当以其潜在读者对于译文的美学接受为终极目标。为此,本文力图进一步从多种不同理论研究角度挖掘译者主体性作用是如何在翻译过程中得到发挥,并探讨了限制主体性作用发挥的一些主客观因素,进而从潜在读者对译文的期待视野和美学接受方面分析了译者在翻译过程中所扮演的多重角色。 本文认为,译者既是源文和源文作者的读者、研究者和阐释者,也是译文的协同创作者和第一读者,更是译文潜在读者的修辞者。这样的多重身份要求译者在翻译过程中,必须既要深入理解源文又要关注潜在读者的审美需求,灵活运用各种翻译手段为译文服务,这样才能保证译文在陌生的译入语环境中维持其后世生命。在对立论展开理论分析的同时,作者援引中外翻译史上相关典型事例来支撑文章的理论框架,并比较分析了中文诗词《声声慢》的几个英文译本,凸显了译者的主体性作用,将理论联系实际。
[Abstract]:Since the 1970s, the trend of thought in translation studies has been rising, which, together with the increasingly prosperous culture, has contributed to the cultural turn of translation studies. Since then, the subjectivity of translators has become a hot topic in contemporary translation studies. Scholars at home and abroad have written books to study the role of translators in the process of translation. The focus of academic attention has also shifted from text-centered study to translation subjectivity, and from source-centered theory to translation theory. From the comparative study of the source text to the target text, it turns to a more complex process study on the exertion of the main roles and the mutual cooperation in the translation process. The translator, in particular, plays a subjective role as the most creative subject in the process of translation. On the basis of previous studies, this paper focuses on strengthening the critical impact of the creative role of the translator on the target text and its readers in translation activities, especially in literary translation activities. In order to improve the translator's position in the cross-cultural communication of such texts, the translator should be placed on a parallel position with the author of the source text, and the translator's subjective role should be based on the aesthetic acceptance of the target text by its potential readers. Therefore, this paper tries to explore how the translator's subjectivity function is brought into play in the process of translation from many different theoretical perspectives, and discusses some subjective and objective factors that restrict the subjective role of the translator. Furthermore, the author analyzes the multiple roles of the translator in the process of translation from the perspective of prospective readers' expectation and aesthetic acceptance. This paper argues that the translator is not only the reader, researcher and interpreter of the source text and the author of the source text, but also the co-creator and the first reader of the target text, as well as the rhetorical figure of the potential reader of the target text. Such multiple identities require the translator to understand the source text deeply and to pay attention to the aesthetic needs of the potential readers in the process of translation, and to flexibly use various translation means to serve the translation. Only in this way can the target text maintain its future life in the unfamiliar target language environment. At the same time, the author uses some typical examples in the history of Chinese and foreign translation to support the theoretical framework of the article, and compares and analyzes several English versions of Chinese poetry "slow Voice", which highlights the subjectivity of the translator. Connect theory with practice.
