从文化角度分析《京华烟云》的翻译

【摘要】： Moment in Peking是林语堂先生旅居巴黎时于1938年8月到1939年9月用英文写就的长篇小说。作家和作品都具有典型的离散文学的特征。这部中国作家笔下的现代英文版《红楼梦》,由张振玉先生翻译为中文版《京华烟云》,在中国读者反响极大,翻拍了两部电视剧,其间引出了许多中西方文化碰撞与翻译问题的讨论。其中文学创作和翻译中的文化倾向和如何在相关理论的指导下翻译离散文学中的文化因素成为最有争议的问题之一。本文首先总结了中外各种主要翻译理论的优缺点,介绍了查理.福尔摩提出的结构语义学,可用于分析离散文学的翻译。查理.福尔摩提出事件框架反映了文章原型,表壳框架反映了外部的社会文化的影响因素。把离散文学中的事件框架和表壳框架和它们的翻译方法提取出来之后,我们就会得出一些关于翻译离散文学的启示。其次,本文分析了Moment in Peking的事件框架和表壳框架。可以看出,由于作者笔下的故事发生在中国,所以事件框架容易翻译。但是在多种因素的影响下,表壳框架很难译出。本文借鉴了奈达的动态对等理论,主张译者力图使译本读者能读懂源语文本中所传达的文化信息。总结了社会文化影响下离散文学的不同的翻译案例。本文还介绍了翻译的另一种形式:Moment in Peking的两个电视剧本。虽然两个剧本反映了同一个事件框架,却在不同的表壳框架影响下呈现出迥异的风格。它又一次证明了查理.福尔摩理论的可行性。最后,本文总结了跨文化因素对翻译理论的影响和翻译中文化研究的局限性。概述了翻译理论的发展及其文化倾向,充实了文化研究学派对文化与翻译关系的研究,并给出了对翻译中文化研究的方向的合理建议。
[Abstract]:Moment in Peking is a novel written in English from August 1938 to September 1939 when Mr. Lin Yutang lived in Paris. Both writers and works have the characteristics of typical discrete literature. This modern English version of Dream of Red Mansions, written by Chinese writers, was translated by Mr. Zhang Zhenyu into the Chinese version of "smoke Cloud in Beijing." the Chinese reader has a great response, and has remade two TV dramas. There are many discussions on cultural collision and translation between China and the West. Among them, the cultural tendency in literary creation and translation and how to translate the cultural factors in discrete literature under the guidance of relevant theories have become one of the most controversial issues. This paper first summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the major translation theories at home and abroad, and introduces Charlie. Formo's structural semantics can be used to analyze the translation of discrete literature. Charlie. Formo's event framework reflects the archetypes of the article, while the case framework reflects the external social and cultural factors. After extracting the event frames and case frames in discrete literature and their translation methods, we can draw some enlightenments about the translation of discrete literature. Secondly, this paper analyzes the event framework and the case framework of Moment in Peking. It can be seen that the event framework is easy to translate because of the fact that the author's story takes place in China. However, under the influence of a variety of factors, the case frame is difficult to translate. Referring to Nida's theory of dynamic equivalence, this paper argues that the translator tries to make the readers understand the cultural information conveyed in the source text. This paper summarizes the different translation cases of discrete literature under the influence of social culture. This paper also introduces two TV scripts of: Moment in Peking in another form of translation. Although the two scripts reflect the same event framework, they show very different styles under the influence of different case frames. It proved Charlie again. The feasibility of Formo's theory. Finally, this paper summarizes the influence of cross-cultural factors on translation theory and the limitations of cultural studies in translation. This paper summarizes the development of translation theory and its cultural tendency, enriches the study of the relationship between culture and translation by the school of cultural studies, and gives some reasonable suggestions on the direction of cultural studies in translation.
