论戴乃迭译《绿化树》中译者的主体性

【摘要】: 在翻译史上,译者的地位长期以来被边缘化。直到20世纪70年代描述翻译学的兴起和文化转向的出现,译者的主体地位才得以彰显。任何一种翻译活动都离不开作为翻译主体的译者。在文学翻译这一特殊的艺术创造过程中,译者处于中心的,最积极最能动的位置,没有译者主体性的充分发挥,只有机械的操作,就没有艺术。 改革开放三十年来,中国经济迅猛发展。全世界想要更多地了解中国,汉译英因此变得越来越重要。然而,其总体效果不能令人满意,现状尴尬。随着老一辈专家学者如杨宪益,戴乃迭和钱钟书等的逝世或者退休,加上西方专家学者的文化霸权主义,汉译英甚至正经历着倒退。解决问题的关键在于培养一批合格的译者和提高译文质量。本文系统分析英籍汉学家戴乃迭译我国作家张贤亮的作品《绿化树》,围绕着译者主体性这一话题进行讨论,希望得到一些有益的启示。 本文第一章为引言。简单介绍译者主体性的一些基本概念,进而引出本文话题。第二章主要从四个方面谈论译者主体性的充分发挥:对原文本的选择,对翻译单位的选择,对翻译风格的选择和对翻译方法的选择。第三章讨论译者主体性的限制因素:译文读者群的限制,客观环境的限制和译者双语能力的限制,尤其是外语能力。第四章讨论了三个问题:谁是最好的译者?译者的母语应该与源语一致,还是与目的语一致?翻译效果应该由谁来鉴定? 第五章为结论。本文的结论是:我国现在汉译英的当务之急是要把国内一些优秀作品译出来,或者重译。每一个译者,不管是中国译者还是外国专家,都有自己的长处和短处。一个优秀的译者在翻译过程中应充分发挥其主体性,扬长避短,合格的翻译或者真正的文化交流才能实现并繁荣。
[Abstract]:In the history of translation, the position of translator has long been marginalized. Until 1970s, the emergence of descriptive translation studies and the emergence of cultural turn, the translator's subjective status can be revealed. Any translation activity can not be separated from the translator as the subject of translation. In the special artistic creation process of literary translation, the translator is in the most active and active position. Without the full play of the translator's subjectivity and mechanical operation, there is no art. Three decades of reform and opening up, China's economy has developed rapidly. The world wants to know more about China, so it becomes more and more important to translate Chinese into English. However, its overall effect is not satisfactory, the status quo is embarrassing. With the death or retirement of the older generation of experts and scholars, such as Yang Xianyi, Dai Nai-tie and Qian Zhongshu, and the cultural hegemonism of western experts and scholars, the translation of Chinese into English is even going backwards. The key to solving the problem lies in cultivating a group of qualified translators and improving the quality of translation. This paper makes a systematic analysis of the translation of Chinese writer Zhang Xianliang's "Greening Tree" by British Sinologist Dai Nai, and discusses the subject of translator's subjectivity in the hope of getting some useful enlightenment. The first chapter is an introduction. This paper briefly introduces some basic concepts of translator's subjectivity, and then leads to the topic of this paper. The second chapter mainly discusses the full play of the translator's subjectivity from four aspects: the choice of the original text, the choice of the translation unit, the choice of the translation style and the choice of the translation method. The third chapter discusses the limiting factors of translator's subjectivity: the limitation of target readers, the limitation of objective environment and the limitation of translator's bilingual ability, especially the foreign language competence. Chapter four discusses three questions: who is the best translator? Should the translator's mother tongue be consistent with the source language or the target language? Who should evaluate the translation effect? The fifth chapter is the conclusion. The conclusion of this paper is that the urgent task of Chinese-English translation at present is to translate some excellent works in China, or to re-translate them. Each translator, whether a Chinese translator or a foreign expert, has its own strengths and weaknesses. In the process of translation, an excellent translator should give full play to his subjectivity, develop his strengths and avoid his weaknesses, and that qualified translation or genuine cultural communication can be realized and prospered.
