寻找“文学性”：论美国比较文学的研究范式

　　二战之后,比较文学研究的重镇从法国移至美国。在第二次国际比较文学大会上,韦勒克宣读了影响深远的《比较文学的危机》,在文中韦勒克将比较文学的危机归结于其缺乏明确的研究内容与具体的研究方法。他开出的处方(将“文学性”作为对象,采用“描述、刻画、阐释”等方式)实质上是一般文学研究的研究内容和研究方法,加之韦勒克的阐述比较笼统,为比较文学今后的发展埋下了新一重危机。自此之后,“危机话语”伴随着学科发展不绝于耳。论文第一章节重访以“教堂山会议”为标志的比较文学“美国时刻”的降临。通过细读韦勒克、雷马克的论文,结合后面数十年的比较文学年鉴、ACLA报告,揭示进入“美国时刻”的比较文学孕育的新危机,并指出:“文学性”的困境、与对“可比性”的争议是这一危机的两个重要标志。虽然“可比性”概念直到1995年才由卡勒明确提出,但美国学派重拾“比较”之法以及对其进行的学理反思早在60年代就有了实践。这个两个看似独立的问题域,实则共同决定了比较文学的本体意义。具有明确内涵、存在于不同层面上的“可比性”(诸如修辞、主题、类型、历史的模式)决定了文学性的多重面向;而文学性通过对文学本质的追问,使“可比性”向诗学层面延...
