论哈金《等待》的书写策略

【摘要】：作为当代移居美国的华侨文学的代表性作家,哈金非母语创作的作品屡获美国文学各大奖项,尤其是《等待》,竟然获两次大奖。但是,在国内,哈金及其作品却备受争议,甚至对其作品的“中国故事”的异域情调(尤其是大量涉及“文革”)以及不纯正的英语都作了否定性的批判,认为这是哈金在特意迎合西方读者的口味。这个现象值得我们关注和思索。本论文以哈金最富盛名的《等待》为研究对象,通过文本细读方法,结合前人的研究成果,从选材、语言特色、叙事手法以及表现的主题等几个方面对《等待》的写作策略进行了研究分析：首先,作为移民作家哈金在《等待》中用英语诉说的不是多数移民作家抒发移民苦闷的“移民故事”,而书写的是“中国故事”。其次,哈金用来创作的英语极具特色,带有极强的汉语特征。第三,在后现代写作技巧横行的当代,哈金仍然坚持写实主义路线,采用的竟然是客观自然的叙事手法。第四,《等待》的故事虽然取材中国,但它体现的主题,却是世界性的——自我问题的探导。经过研究,本文作者认为,哈金在《等待》中运用的书写策略独具风格,他因此成功地把世界性与中国性进行了融合。从这个角度出发,我们会发现,哈金其实是一个具有全球特性的作家。此研究,为解读哈金现象做出一些新的尝试,不至于再以一些偏颇的眼光去看待哈金及其作品。此外,还可以为华人移民文学如何在世界范围内获得更多的读者,甚至是提高中国文学在世界的影响力,提供了一定的借鉴意义。
[Abstract]:As a representative writer of overseas Chinese literature in the United States, Harkin's non-native works have won many awards in American literature, especially "waiting for". However, in China, he has won two awards. However, Harkin and his works have been controversial, and have even made negative criticism on the exotic tone of his works "Chinese Story" (especially on a large number of the "Cultural Revolution") as well as on the impure English. It is considered that Harkin is deliberately catering to the tastes of Western readers. This phenomenon deserves our attention and reflection. This thesis takes Hajin's most famous "waiting" as the research object, through the text reading method, unifies the predecessor's research result, selects the material, the language characteristic. The narrative techniques and the theme of the performance of several aspects of the "waiting for" writing strategies were studied and analyzed: first of all. As an immigrant writer, what Harkin tells in English is not the "immigrant story" that most immigrant writers express their distress, but the "Chinese story". The English used by Harkin is very distinctive and has strong Chinese characteristics. Thirdly, in the modern era of postmodern writing skills, Harkin still adheres to the realism line. Although the story of 4th, "waiting" is taken from China, but it embodies the theme, it is the world of self-problem guidance. Through the research, the author thinks that the writing strategy used by Harkin in "waiting" has a unique style, so he has successfully combined cosmopolitan and Chinese sex. From this perspective, we will find out. Harkin is in fact a writer with global characteristics. This study makes some new attempts to interpret the Harkin phenomenon, so as not to look at Harkin and his works in a biased way. It can also provide some reference for Chinese immigrant literature to gain more readers in the world and even to improve the influence of Chinese literature in the world.
