论《赎罪》的不确定性

【摘要】：不确定性是西方后现代主义语境中一个重要的概念,生发于20世纪70年代,配合整个社会的发展和变革,成为当时社会中一种显在的精神特质。不确定性挑战原有的社会追求及价值观,强调混乱、多元以及以自我为中心,在后现代语境中掀起了一场变革的风潮。成长于这样一种社会状态下的麦克尤恩也将整个时代的精神风貌融入自己的创作之中。他在小说《赎罪》中构建出不确定的文本特征,集中反映人物行为及其内心精神状态的不确定性,并将这种不确定性上升到整个社会变革的广阔背景之中,展开对于人性复杂的深刻讨论。论文从小说文本、人物行为及心理三方面对不确定性的具体体现及深层原因进行了论述,共分成三章：第一章主要论述小说在文本层面所体现的不确定性。整部小说的结构呈现出“戏中戏”的状态,这种结构状态得益于元小说结尾以及不可靠叙述等叙述策略。正是因为这样不确定的文本特质,才为人物行为的不确定性奠定了叙述基础。第二章分析主人公布里奥尼赎罪行为的不确定性。基于前文对于小说文本层次的划分,本章主要从布里奥尼版《赎罪》、布里奥尼日记体、麦克尤恩版《赎罪》三个故事层面来揭示人物赎罪行为的不确定性。由于“戏中戏”的结构特征,读者在进入阅读的过程中会先后接触不同的故事层面,跟随不同的叙述者体味布里奥尼内心的挣扎。第三章揭示人物心理状态中所体现的不确定的伦理道德。布里奥尼与罗比处于善与恶的悖谬、个人意志与他人利益相互矛盾的挣扎之中,两人的生存境况并非个人独有的状态,而是一个普遍的问题,代表着人性的不确定性。这种不确定性不但是社会及人性的常态,也昭示着人类依靠着各种手段,表达着自己对于真善美的永恒追求。
[Abstract]:Uncertainty is an important concept in the context of western postmodernism. It was born in 1970s and coordinated with the development and transformation of the whole society. Uncertainty challenges the original social pursuits and values, emphasizing chaos, pluralism and self-centeredness. McEwan, who grew up in such a social state, also incorporated the spirit of the whole era into his own creation. In the novel Atonement, he constructed an inaccuracy. Definite text features. This paper focuses on the uncertainty of the characters' behavior and their inner mental state, and raises the uncertainty to the broad background of the whole social transformation, and carries out a profound discussion on the complexity of human nature. The paper discusses the concrete embodiment and deep reason of uncertainty from three aspects of novel text, character behavior and psychology, and it is divided into three chapters: The first chapter mainly discusses the uncertainty of the novel at the text level. The structure of the whole novel presents the state of "drama in the drama". This kind of structural state benefits from the narrative strategies such as the end of the metafiction and unreliable narration. It is precisely because of this uncertain nature of the text that the narrative basis for the uncertainty of the character's behavior is laid down. The second chapter analyzes the uncertainty of the owner's atonement behavior. Based on the previous classification of the novel text, this chapter mainly from the Briony version of "Atonement", Briony Diary. The McEwan version of Atonement reveals the uncertainty of the atonement behavior of the characters. Due to the structural characteristics of the drama, readers will come into contact with different story levels in the process of reading. Follow different narrators to appreciate Briony's inner struggles. The third chapter reveals the uncertain ethics embodied in the psychological state of the characters. Briony and Robbie are in the paradox of good and evil, and the personal will and the interests of others struggle against each other. The living condition of two people is not a unique state of the individual, but a universal problem, representing the uncertainty of human nature, which is not only the normal state of society and human nature, but also shows that human beings rely on various means. Express their eternal pursuit of truth, goodness and beauty.
