费伦叙事伦理观透视下的《时间箭》

【摘要】：马丁·艾米斯是当代文学史上举足轻重的作家之一,与朱利安·巴恩斯、伊恩·麦克尤恩并称英国文坛三巨头。鉴于他写作技巧上的大胆、创新,长久以来西方学者多从叙事技巧方面研究他的作品,并盛赞他为“新生的福楼拜”、“再世的乔伊斯”(阮炜,2002：48)、“当代的乔纳森·斯威夫特”(王丽丽,2006：305)等等。自上世纪九十年代,艾米斯进入中国人的文化视野。历经二十余年,国内学界对他的关注仍然处于滥觞阶段,不仅数量有限,而且多数承袭西方学者对其艺术技巧的探究。在国内外研究的基础上,本文选取艾米斯的中期作品《时间箭》为研究对象,通过詹姆斯·费伦的叙事伦理观和R.D.莱恩的分裂自我理论切入文本肌理,挖掘其内蕴的伦理思想,希冀为艾米斯的小说研究提供一个新的解读视角。费伦的叙事伦理观关注作者构建、文本呈现和读者反应的互动交流,尤其是文本形式和伦理内涵二者的关系。尽管有学者关注艾米斯小说的伦理指向,但仅限于主题范畴的内容探讨,不免有失偏颇。费伦的叙事伦理观以故事、话语和阅读平衡了作者、文本和读者三方对伦理建构的参与。在其理论透视下,本文认为《时间箭》不仅仅停留在技巧上的实验创新。作为一位颇具伦理关怀的当代作家,艾米斯在故事层面上努力营造特定的伦理情境；在话语层面上以特定的叙事进程、戏仿组合及叙述主体的重构策略展现了文本的伦理思考；在阅读层面上读者的互动参与进一步深化了该文本的伦理反思,从而摆脱了传统阐释的束缚——大屠杀仅是偶然犯下的滔天大罪,使读者在经历传统叙述范式的消弭中,创生一隅空间,深思纳粹屠杀的本质。
[Abstract]:Martin Ames is one of the most important writers in the history of contemporary literature, and with Julian Barnes and Ian McEwan, he's known as the Big three in English literature, because of his bold and innovative writing skills. Western scholars have long studied his works in terms of narrative techniques and praised him as "the New Flaubert", "the Reborn Joyce" (Ruan Wei-tun 2002: 48), "Wang Lili 2006: 305" and so on since -10s. After more than 20 years, the attention of the domestic academic circles to him is still in the beginning stage, not only a limited number, but also most of the Western scholars to explore his artistic skills. On the basis of domestic and foreign research, This paper takes Ames' intermediate work, time Arrow, as the object of study. Through James Fellen's narrative ethics and R.Dlane 's theory of split self, we cut into the texture of the text and dig out its ethical ideas. It is hoped that it will provide a new angle of view for the study of Ames' novels. Fellen's narrative ethics view focuses on the author's construction, the interactive communication between text presentation and reader's response, especially the relationship between text form and ethical connotation, although some scholars pay close attention to the ethical direction of Ames' novel. Fellen's narrative ethics theory balances the author, text and reader's participation in ethical construction with story, discourse and reading. As a contemporary writer of ethical concern, Ames works hard to create a specific ethical situation at the story level and a specific narrative process at the discourse level. The reconstruction strategy of parody combination and narrative subject shows the ethical thinking of the text, and the interactive participation of readers on the reading level further deepens the ethical reflection of the text. Thus getting rid of the bondage of the traditional interpretation, the Holocaust is only a monstrous crime committed by chance, which makes the reader create a corner of space and ponder the essence of Nazi massacre in the course of the elimination of the traditional narrative paradigm.
