【摘要】：乔伊斯·卡罗尔·欧茨是美国当代著名女作家,有大量小说、诗歌、戏剧问世。她的作品涵盖了青年反叛、反战情绪、城市动乱和理性反思等多种主题,以独特的视角和笔触反映了当代美国社会的方方面面。《妈妈走了》是欧茨的又一力作,小说的故事跨度为一年,借助一个看似叛逆张狂实则多情柔弱的美国女性尼基的道白,叙述了美国一个中产家庭出身的女孩,如何在母亲遇害后走出丧亲之痛、剪断不伦之恋、重拾亲情、开始新生的心路历程。 成长主题是文学的一个永恒主题。成长小说就是以叙述人物成长过程为主题的小说,它通过对一个人或几个人成长经历的叙事,表现这个人社会化过程中一次或几次成长的经历和感悟,反映出人物的思想和心理从幼稚走向成熟的变化过程。《妈妈走了》是一部典型的成长小说,然而,文学评论家多从女性暴力、犯罪、两性关系等角度对欧茨的小说进行剖析,很少有评论家从成长这一角度对欧茨小说中的成长主题进行系统的研究。本文试从成长小说的角度入手,结合成长小说和成长主题的理论,通过分析其作为一部成长小说必不可少的四个要素——成长的主人公、成长的领路人、成长的伙伴和成长过程中的顿悟,从而凸显其成长主题。本文还从将创作手法上来探讨其作为成长小说的艺术特色。象征手法的运用,第一人称的叙事视角和哥特式写作手法的巧妙结合不仅显示了欧茨娴熟的创作技巧,还将小说的成长主题充分展现出来,使这部小说具有了独特的艺术魅力。 《妈妈走了》通过对女儿在母亲遇害后的心路历程的描写,旨在展示其隐藏于故事背后的创作观——试图通过描写社会年轻一代成长过程中的经历,引起人们对社会问题的关注和思考。在现代社会,急功近利的价值观轻而易举地弱化或取代了人们的道德伦理,这时,我们更需要追问人生的意义和生命的价值。妈妈的爱心、善良和宽容告诉我们,在平凡生活中用爱心和宽容充实丰富人生,体验幸福快乐。
[Abstract]:Joyce Carroll Oates is a famous contemporary American woman writer with a lot of novels, poems and plays. Her works cover a wide range of topics, such as youth rebellion, anti-war sentiment, urban unrest and rational reflection. "Mother gone" is another masterpiece by Oates, whose story spans a year, with the help of a seemingly rebellious, affectionate, tenuous American woman, Niki. This paper describes how a middle-class American girl came out of bereavement after her mother was killed, cut off her love, regained her affection, and began her new life. The theme of growth is an eternal theme of literature. A growth novel is a novel with the theme of narrating the process of the growth of a character, through the narration of one or more people's growing up experiences. The experience and perception of one or more times of growing up in this person's socialization process reflects the changing process of the character's thought and psychology from childish to mature. "Mom gone" is a typical growth story, however, Literary critics analyze Oates's novels from the angles of female violence, crime, gender relations, etc. Few critics systematically study the theme of growth in Oates's novels from the perspective of growth. By analyzing its four essential elements as a growth novel, the protagonist of growth, the leader of growth, the partner of growth and the epiphany in the process of growth, In order to highlight the theme of its growth. This article also discusses its artistic characteristics as a growth novel from the point of view of creative techniques, as well as the use of symbolic techniques. The combination of the first person narrative perspective and Gothic writing techniques not only shows Oates' skillful creative skills, but also fully displays the growing theme of the novel, which makes the novel have a unique artistic charm. By describing her daughter's mental journey after her mother's death, the "Mother walked" is designed to show the creative outlook that lies behind the story-trying to describe the experiences of the younger generation of society as they grow up. In modern society, the values of quick success and instant gain easily weaken or replace people's moral ethics. At this time, we need to ask more about the meaning of life and the value of life. Kindness and tolerance tell us to enrich life and experience happiness with love and tolerance in ordinary life.
