基于语境关系适应论的《傲慢与偏见》人物对话分析

【摘要】：本文以维索尔伦的语言适应论为理论基础,以其中的语境关系适应作分析框架，就简·奥斯汀小说《傲慢与偏见》中人物对话进行全面系统的语用分析。从对语境关系的适应，即从心理世界、社交世界和物理世界的适应性来考察小说中各种人物心理、社会及文化因素对小说人物话语选择的影响,旨在分析和证明语境关系适应论对小说文本中的对话具有强大的解释力,进而验证语境关系适应论应用于文学研究的可行性。对话是小说的重要组成部分，是作者向读者传达小说人物性格与塑造小说人物形象的重要手段之一。人物通过对话传递信息,读者只有将小说人物对话与各语言规律及人物心理、社会和文化等因素一并考虑在内，才能深刻理解小说人物在对话过程中所做出的各种语言选择的动因。适应论认为语用学是从认知、社会和文化的角度对语言使用这种行为的综观。使用语言就是一个适应相关语境而不断选择语言的过程。语言使用者之所以能够在语言使用过程中做出种种选择是源于语言的三个特性，即变异性、商讨性和适应性。适应性是语言使用过程的核心，任何语言的使用都要根据语境做出动态适应。语境不是事先给定的,而是随着交际过程的发展而不断更新的。通过分析，本文发现小说《傲慢与偏见》中的人物使用不同的话语是为了适应不同语境，，实现或接近某个或某些特定的交际目标。这就证明了适应论应用于小说文本中人物对话分析的可行性。同时，本文在实践上为文学文本的理解和欣赏提供了一种新的视角,即将文学批判和语用纵观结合起来。本论文的文本分析就是运用适应论的一个文学分析的新尝试。
[Abstract]:Based on the theory of linguistic adaptation of Versolren and the contextual adaptation, this paper makes a comprehensive and systematic pragmatic analysis of the dialogue between the characters in Jane Austen's novel Pride and Prejudice. From the adaptation to the contextual relationship, that is, the adaptation of the mental world, the social world and the physical world, the influence of the psychological, social and cultural factors on the discourse choice of the characters in the novel is investigated. The purpose of this paper is to analyze and prove that the adaptation theory of contextual relation has a powerful explanatory power on the dialogue in the novel text, and then to verify the feasibility of applying the adaptation theory of contextual relation to literary research. Dialogue is an important part of the novel, and it is one of the important means for the author to convey the character of the novel to the reader and to create the character image of the novel. When the characters convey information through dialogue, the reader only takes into account the characters' dialogue with the laws of each language and the psychological, social and cultural factors of the characters. Only in this way can we understand the motivation of various language choices made by the characters in the dialogue. Adaptation theory holds that pragmatics is a comprehensive view of language use from the perspective of cognition, society and culture. The use of language is a process that adapts to the relevant context and chooses language constantly. The reasons why language users can make various choices in the process of language use are derived from the three characteristics of language, namely variability, negotiability and adaptability. Adaptability is the core of language use. Context is not given in advance, but is updated with the development of communication process. Based on the analysis, it is found that the characters in the novel Pride and Prejudice use different utterances in order to adapt to different contexts and to achieve or approach one or some specific communicative goals. This proves the feasibility of applying adaptation theory to the analysis of character dialogue in the novel text. At the same time, this paper provides a new perspective for the understanding and appreciation of literary texts in practice, which combines literary criticism with pragmatic perspective. The text analysis of this thesis is a new attempt of literary analysis using adaptation theory.
