基于概念整合理论奈保尔作品文化意象的研究

【摘要】：Fauconnier和Turner提出的概念整合理论为文学作品的研究提供了一种新的理论基础。作为认知语言学领域的重要理论之一，概念整合理论具有强大的认知力，能够揭示语言使用的心理运作机制，帮助人们解释语言构建过程中的思维变化，以便对文学作品创作过程中的想象力和创造性有更加精确与深刻的理解。本文运用概念整合理论从认知层面分析Naipaul作品中文化意象的深刻涵义，旨在阐释概念整合理论对文学作品中文化意象的解释力，并通过对Naipaul作品中文化意象进行认知解读来进一步认识作者的多元文化身份，从更深的层次来解读Naipaul及其作品。本论文选取奈保尔代表作中的4个意象作为样本，以概念整合理论中的认知机制来揭示这些文化意象所蕴含的文化意义。通过整合，可以得出：《抵达之谜》反应了作者融入英国文化过程中的困惑和迷茫，是作者英国文化身份的自我追寻；“房子”意象表达了作者对特立尼达的家园情结，是其寻求故土文化身份的象征；“黑暗”意象是奈保尔对印度文化的鞭策，作者有着无法割舍的印裔文化身份；《河湾》中的“转折”意象意味着奈保尔文化身份的转折，作者表现出对第三世界文化的关注，呈现出其世界公民的文化身份。通过分析可以发现：概念整合理论的应用可以延伸到小说中去，因为小说中的文化意象含有丰富的认知涵义。用概念整合理论分析小说中的文化身份，能更深入地了解文化意象背后作家的文化身份，有利于对作者的多元文化身份的正确认识。
[Abstract]:The conceptual integration theory proposed by Fauconnier and Turner provides a new theoretical basis for the study of literary works. As one of the important theories in the field of cognitive linguistics, conceptual integration theory has strong cognitive power, which can reveal the psychological operation mechanism of language use and help people explain the change of thinking in the process of language construction. In order to have a more accurate and profound understanding of the imagination and creativity in the process of literary creation. This paper uses the theory of conceptual integration to analyze the profound meaning of cultural image in Naipaul works from the cognitive level, in order to explain the explanatory power of the theory of conceptual integration to the cultural image in literary works. And through the cognitive interpretation of the cultural image in Naipaul works to further understand the multicultural identity of the author, from a deeper level to interpret Naipaul and his works. In this paper, four images in Naipaul's masterpiece are selected as samples to reveal the cultural significance of these cultural images by the cognitive mechanism of conceptual integration theory. Through integration, it can be concluded that "the riddle of arrival" reflects the confusion and confusion in the process of the author's integration into British culture, and is the self-pursuit of the author's British cultural identity; The "house" image expresses the author's home complex towards Trinidad and is the symbol of his pursuit of the cultural identity of his native land, while the image of "darkness" is the spur of Naipaul to Indian culture, and the author has an irrevocable Indian cultural identity. The "turning" image in River Bay means the transition of Naipaul's cultural identity. The author shows his concern for the culture of the third World and presents his cultural identity as a citizen of the world. Through the analysis, we can find that the application of conceptual integration theory can be extended to the novel, because the cultural image in the novel contains rich cognitive meaning. Using the theory of conceptual integration to analyze the cultural identity in the novel can better understand the cultural identity of the writer behind the cultural image and is conducive to the correct understanding of the author's multicultural identity.
