毛姆三部喜剧主题研究

【摘要】：威廉·萨默塞特·毛姆是英国二十世纪著名作家，他在戏剧领域和小说领域都获得了巨大成就，然而与其小说研究的热潮相比，毛姆戏剧一直以来都受我国学界冷落。本文选择毛姆喜剧的三部代表作《贵族夫人》、《装聋作哑》和《恶性循环》作为研究对象，通过细读文本，探讨这三部喜剧反映的多重主题。同时也期望引起学界对毛姆戏剧的重视。 本文分绪论、正文和结语三个部分。绪论部分梳理国内外毛姆戏剧的研究成果，并提出论文的研究对象，以及要解决的问题。正文由三部分组成，分别探讨毛姆这三部喜剧的婚恋主题、金钱主题和命运主题，并分析毛姆的人生经历对于这三个主题的影响。通过研究，论文得出以下结论：在毛姆这三部喜剧中，最美最持久的爱情是永远得不到回报的爱情，所有得到回报的爱情都以悲剧收场，爱情的悲剧不是死亡，而是不关心、无感情；不论是否有爱情做基础，婚姻的目的都是相互利用，婚姻的结局都是相互厌恶；金钱具有巨大的魔力，，它是一个人在社会上生活，所需的诸多保障以及某些特权获得的源头，因而无数的人拼命捞金子，但巨额财富也有其负面效应；每一个看似自由的人，身上都绑着各种牵线，在某种程度上扮演着牵线木偶的角色。毛姆喜剧中所表现的婚恋主题、金钱主题和命运主题都与其自身的人生经历有着密切的联系。结语部分总结全文，并指出毛姆戏剧有待进一步深入研究。
[Abstract]:William Somerset Maugham is a famous English writer in the 20th century. He has made great achievements in the field of drama and fiction. This paper chooses the three masterpieces of Maugham comedy, Lady of nobility, pretending to be deaf and dumb, and vicious circle, as the object of study, and explores the multiple themes reflected by these three comedies through a close reading of the text. At the same time, it is expected to arouse the academic attention to Maugham's drama. This article is divided into three parts: introduction, text and conclusion. The introduction part combs the domestic and foreign Maugham drama research achievement, and proposes the research object, as well as the question to be solved. The text is composed of three parts. It discusses the themes of marriage, money and fate of Maugham's three comedies, and analyzes the influence of Maugham's life experience on these three themes. Through research, the paper draws the following conclusion: in Maugham's three comedies, the most beautiful and lasting love is the love that will never be rewarded, and all the returned love ends with tragedy. The tragedy of love is not death, but indifference. No feelings; Whether there is love or not, the purpose of marriage is to make use of each other, and the end of marriage is mutual loathing. Money has a great magic, it is a person in society, the need for a lot of security and some privileges of the source, so countless people desperately seek gold, but the huge wealth also has its negative effects; Everyone who seems to be free has a variety of strings tied to him, playing the role of a marionette to some extent. The themes of marriage, money and destiny in Maugham comedy are closely related to their own life experiences. The conclusion part summarizes the full text and points out that Maugham drama needs further study.
