【摘要】：称呼语是言语交际中传递给听话人的第一信息，它能够建立、维持、加强交际行为参与者之间的关系，而称呼语的使用恰当与否往往会决定言语交际是否成功。由于英汉文化的差异，英汉称呼语的表达也存在巨大的差异。 根据维索尔伦的语用纵观顺应论，使用语言是在不同的意识程度下为满足交际需要而做出的基于语言内部或外部原因的选择。称呼语的翻译本身就是两种语言间的转换，所以顺应论可以作为称呼语翻译研究的理论基础。 本文以维索尔伦的顺应论为理论框架，采用定性研究方法，选取姜戎创作的《狼图腾》及其英译Wolf Totem中的称呼语为研究对象，从顺应论的四个研究角度，即语境关系顺应（包括语言语境和交际语境），结构客体顺应，动态顺应及顺应过程意识突显程度，对《狼图腾》中称呼语的翻译进行研究。 通过研究，笔者发现译者葛浩文采用了直译、意译、替换、省译、音译等方法对原文和译语读者做出不同的顺应。这些译法对于文学作品中称呼语的翻译有一定参考价值。
