【摘要】： 自20世纪30年代起，隐喻研究就突破了传统的修辞学的范畴，并在70年代进入了多学科的研究阶段。人们对隐喻的理解也经历了从词汇层次到句子层次，从句子层次到任何语篇形式的过程。在本文中，作者尝试应用近年来对隐喻的研究成果—包括体验主义理论的“双域”模型和概念融合理论的“多空间”模型—来探索理解中国古典诗歌中的隐喻，并付诸翻译过程中。 本文依据I.A.Richards的术语(喻旨，喻衣和喻底)把隐喻分为四类：象征性隐喻、常规隐喻(喻旨和喻衣同时出现的隐喻)、喻衣隐喻和喻旨隐喻。基于许渊冲翻译中国古典诗歌的“三美”理论(音美、形美、意美)，作者提出了翻译中国古典诗歌中隐喻的“四美”标准：理想的译文应保持原文中隐喻的意象美、音美、形美和意美。 隐喻通常隐含于语句的字面义之外，通过语境(文化语境和在语言语境)体现出来。因此，对原文语境的准确理解就成为了隐喻翻译的基石。通过对中国古典诗歌中的隐喻(不同种类和不同语篇层次上)及其译文的分析，作者得出结论：隐喻的组成结构和其所处的语篇层次、具体语境及意境是影响其翻译的决定因素。
