英汉叙事语篇主位及主位推进模式对比研究

【摘要】:主位和主位推进的概念最早产生于布拉格学派,后经多位语言学家的研究创新,逐渐应用于语篇分析,成为语篇分析的重要手段之一。国内外先后有多位语言学家都致力于不同语篇中主位和主位推进的研究,并取得了一定的成果。这些研究结果表明主位及主位推进和语篇的文体之间存在着某种联系,其在语篇中的分布不是随意的凌乱无序的,而具有其各自独特的特征。 本文以系统功能语言学家韩礼德的主述位理论和捷克语言学家丹尼斯的主位推进概念为理论依据,结合朱永生提出的四种主位推进模式,以福克纳的短篇小说ARoseforEmily和杨岂深先生的译本《献给埃米莉的玫瑰花》为研究语料,采取定量分析和对比分析的方法,对英汉两个版本中主位和主位推进模式进行了对比分析,旨在了解英汉叙事语篇在主位和主位推进模式的运用上所存在的相似和差异之处。 在本研究中,通过对比分析收集到的各类相关数据,发现英汉叙事语篇在主位和主位推进模式的选择上既存在相似之处,也存在着差异。在此基础之上,本文就造成上述异同的潜在原因作了进一步探讨,得出了一些基本结论,即两者之间的相似性主要源于两个研究样本相同的文体,而两者之间存在差异则主要是由于英语和汉语在语言类型上的差异造成的。期望本研究能够加强语言学习者对主位理论及文体理论知识重要性的认识,,并为叙事语篇的学习和研究提供新的视角和方法。同时,也希望本研究能对国内英语教学有所启发,促进教师在教学中对研究相关内容的重视,从而促成学习者在英语写作及翻译方面的提升。
[Abstract]:The concept of theme and thematic progression originated from the Prague School and was gradually applied to discourse analysis through the research innovation of many linguists. Many linguists at home and abroad have devoted themselves to the study of theme and thematic progression in different texts. These results show that there is a certain relationship between the theme and thematic progression and the style of the text, and its distribution in the text is not random and disorderly, but has its own unique characteristics. Based on the Theme-Rheme Theory of Halliday, a systemic functional linguist, and the concept of thematic progression of Czech linguist Dennis, this paper combines the four thematic progression models proposed by Zhu Yongsheng. Based on Faulkner's short novel ARoseforEmily and Yang Weishen's translation of Rose for Emily, this paper makes a comparative analysis of thematic and thematic progression patterns in English and Chinese versions by means of quantitative analysis and contrastive analysis. The purpose of this paper is to understand the similarities and differences between English and Chinese narrative discourse in the application of theme and thematic progression. In the present study, we find that there are similarities and differences in the choice of theme and thematic progression in English and Chinese narrative discourse through the comparative analysis of all kinds of relevant data collected. On the basis of this, we find that there are some differences in the choice of theme and thematic progression in English and Chinese narrative discourse. This paper makes a further study on the potential causes of the similarities and differences mentioned above, and draws some basic conclusions, that is, the similarity between the two is mainly due to the same style of the two research samples. The difference between the two is mainly due to the differences in language types between English and Chinese. It is hoped that this study can enhance the understanding of the importance of thematic theory and stylistic theory. It also provides a new perspective and method for the study and research of narrative discourse. At the same time, it is hoped that this study can enlighten English teaching in China and promote teachers to attach importance to the research in teaching. Thus, learners can improve their English writing and translation.
