中英讣告对比分析—批评话语分析视角

【摘要】：至今对于中英讣告的研究，主要集中在单一地从文化角度进行对比分析或比较中英文讣告的文体特征。但从批评话语分析角度进行讣告的对比分析，即从语言形式差异性探究其背后隐藏的文化、意识形态差异却很少引起关注。 本文从《人民日报》、《纽约时报》及其他新闻网站上获取五十篇中英讣告，分别为二十五篇英文讣告和二十五篇中文讣告。在系统功能语言学理论框架基础上，通过分析五十篇语料的及物系统、情态系统以及评价系统和主位结构及主位推进模式，对中英文讣告进行对比分析，发掘中英文讣告中的差异性和相似点，并进一步探究语篇背后隐藏的意识形态和文化差异。本文采用定量研究和定性研究相结合的方法。 语料分析结果表明，中英讣告在语场、语旨和语式方面有许多相似处，也存在一些差异，且差异源于各自不同的文化和意识形态。中英讣告及物性过程类别选择存在差别，情态系统中情态限定词、情态附加语以及评价理论中各评价性资源的选择存在差别，主位结构选择也存在差别。英语讣告侧重发生的事件，而中文讣告把重心放在个人身上，比如其身份和性格等。中文讣告在情态系统和评价体系上的特点体现了中国的核心价值，表现出更官方、更权威的特征。而英文讣告更倾向于客观事实的呈现，意识形态表现更隐晦。在主位结构上，英文讣告更多使用无标记主位，倾向于对个人的突出。在标记主位选择方面，中文讣告使用时间副词作为主位较多。 本文通过对中英讣告对比，探讨其背后隐含的意识形态，对批评话语分析的进一步运用做出了贡献。
[Abstract]:Up to now, the research on Chinese and English obituaries mainly focuses on the comparative analysis or comparison of the stylistic features of Chinese and English obituaries from a cultural point of view. However, the comparative analysis of obituary from the perspective of critical discourse analysis, that is, to explore the hidden culture from the linguistic form difference, rarely attracts attention to ideological differences. This paper obtains 50 Chinese and English obituaries from People's Daily, the New York Times and other news websites, which are 25 English obituaries and 25 Chinese obituaries respectively. Based on the theoretical framework of systemic functional linguistics, a comparative analysis of Chinese and English obituaries is made by analyzing the transitivity system, modality system, evaluation system, thematic structure and thematic progression model of 50 corpus. The differences and similarities between Chinese and English obituaries are explored, and the ideological and cultural differences behind the discourse are further explored. This paper adopts the method of combining quantitative and qualitative research. The results of corpus analysis show that Chinese and English obituaries have many similarities and differences in terms of language field, tenor and form, and the differences originate from different cultures and ideologies. There are differences between Chinese and English obituaries and the choice of categories of transitivity process. There are differences in the choice of modal determinants, modal adjuncts and evaluative resources in the modal system, as well as in the choice of thematic structure. English obituaries focus on events, while Chinese obituaries focus on individuals, such as identity and character. The characteristics of Chinese obituary in modality system and evaluation system embody the core value of China and show more official and authoritative features. The English obituary is more inclined to present objective facts and the ideological expression is more obscure. In terms of thematic structure, English obituaries tend to use unmarked themes and tend to highlight individuals. In the selection of marked themes, Chinese obituaries use time adverbs as themes. By comparing Chinese and English obituaries, this paper discusses the underlying ideology and contributes to the further application of critical discourse analysis.
