刻意话题转换的顺应性研究

【摘要】：话题是会话结构的基本构件,是构件的实质内容,是会话结构中的深层纽带。凡是有人群的地方就有话题,话题无处不在。但近年来,国内外许多学者对语言话语分析的对象多涉及指示语、话轮转换、衔接等,却很少涉及话题方面的研究。本论文的研究对象是言语交际中话题转换的刻意使用,从整体上,本论文属于基于语料的定性研究。论文主要以Jef Verschueren(1999)的语言顺应理论(linguistic adaptation theory)为理论框架,旨在解释话题转换的顺应性、协商性及其功能。 在谈话中,话题不是永远不变的,它会随着事件的发展,谈话者思想的变化及兴趣所在而发生转换。话题转换经常发生,这也正是话题具有随意性一面的表现。但有的时候话题转换是谈话者刻意使用的一种交际策略,是一种有意识的交际活动。什么是刻意话题转换呢?在本文中,它的工作定义是“在日常会话中,为了达到一定的交际效果,说话者在有能力继续原话题的前提下故意终止原话题,而提出一个与原话题在内容上或相关或毫不相关的新话题,从而使会话成功进行下去。”本文所探讨的话题转换是作为一种交际策略而存在,并能够发挥一定的交际功能的刻意话题转换。交际者为什么要刻意转换话题呢?我们认为这是为了顺应各种语境因素:1).顺应社会规约,即顺应说话人所处的社会地位,所拥有的社会权利等;2).顺应心理世界,即顺应说话人的性格、感情等;3).顺应物理环境,即顺应说话人当时所处的时间、空间和语言环境等。 顺应理论回答了在一个特定的语境中人们为什么选择话题转换作为交际策略这一问题,那么话题转换作为交际策略是如何在言语交际中具体运用的呢?这正是本文研究的第二个方面的内容。研究发现,说话人在进行话题转换时,需要借助各种各样的语言结构来对语言进行调控,从而有效的实现这一交际策略。大量语料事实表明,话轮转换不是话题转换的决定因素,有时话轮转换,话题未必发生变化;有时话轮未变,话题却发生改变,因此话题的具体转换过程可以分为自我转换和他人转换。话轮不转换,话题转换了,是自我转
