体视角下英汉程度成就动词比较研究

程度成就动词是状态变化动词的一种,它和一些成就类动词一样,表示状态变化,但却可以带表示持续时间的副词。但它们并非成就动词,而通常是完成动词和活动动词。由于其体特征的特殊性,本研究将从该视角对英汉程度成就动词进行对比研究。Comrie(1976)在前人研究成果的基础上,高度概括出了三对动词情景的内在体性:“瞬间和持续”,“有界限和无界限”,“静态和动态”。程度成就动词在词汇层面存在有界与无界之分,它们这种内在体性的差异是否会对同现的副词产生影响是本研究关注的第一个问题。此外,有研究发现,程度成就动词的体特征,特别是终结性在句子层面受到多种因素的影响,具有多变性。这种多变性以及语法体的选择与词汇层面的有界/无界之分是否存在联系,这是本研究关注的第二个问题。基于以上两个问题,本研究分别选取了三对终结性和三对非终结性英汉程度成就动词:straighten/拉直(挺直),empty/清空,flatten/抹平;lengthen/加长(拉长),shorten/缩短,widen/拓宽,采用基于语料库的研究方法,从美国COCA语料库和北京语言大学汉语语料库选取语料,对其进行对比分析。研究结果显示:英汉程...
