[Abstract]:Josephine Ballmer's Paralypse of splicing deals with the translation and study of classical poetry, the creation of contemporary poetry, and the relationship between the two. The author systematically expounds the special difficulties in translating western classical poetry, the necessity of retranslating western classical poetry, and how to deal with the relationship between creativity and academic nature in translating western classical poetry. And the western classical poetry translation to the contemporary English poetry creation promotion function and so on many questions and so on. Balmer redraws the boundaries of translation and creation through her own translation and creative practice. Her poems not only show the eternal vitality of classical poetry, but also enhance the expressive power of contemporary poetry creation. This book is useful for us to think about the essence of translation and how to use the past for the present.
