“女巫”赞歌:关于塞勒姆审巫事件的两部当代历史小说评述

【摘要】：塞勒姆审巫案是美国早期历史的一个重大事件,也是文学关注的历史题材。最近出版的两部历史小说———凯思琳·肯特的《叛道者的女儿》和凯瑟琳·豪的《迪丽芬斯·戴恩的医书》,都对这一历史悲剧进行了想象性的重构,在尊重史实的基础上充分运用小说的虚构特权,将遭受诬陷的受害者们塑造成令人敬仰的女英雄,并对事件进行了具有当代视角的阐释,可供读者经由艺术家的美学再现而回探殖民时期的清教历史,反思历史遗产对今天的意义。
[Abstract]:The trial of sorcery in Salem is an important event in the early American history and a historical subject of literary concern. Two recent historical novels, Kathleen Kent's daughter of the Rebellion and Catherine Howe's Diliffence Dayne's Medical Book, have imaginatively reconstructed this historical tragedy. Making full use of the fictional privilege of the novel on the basis of respect for historical facts, portraying the victims of the framing as admirable heroines and interpreting events from a contemporary perspective, Readers can explore the Puritan history of colonial period and reflect on the significance of historical heritage to today through the aesthetic reappearance of artists.
