后现代小说《人性的污点》的叙述学阐释

【摘要】：菲利普·罗斯曾多次被提名诺贝尔文学奖,并且已经成为当代美国文坛地位极高的作家之一,小说《人性的污点》是美国三部曲(《美国牧歌》《我嫁给了共产党人》《人性的污点》)之一。小说以20世纪90年代为背景,通过对科尔曼现实遭遇的描写,展示了种族、身份、个人与时代、机缘和宿命的冲突及对立。因为“幽灵”事件,科尔曼被冠予了“种族主义者”的罪名。科尔曼辞职和妻子去世后,又被揭露和福尼亚的桃色新闻。最终,科尔曼被流言所困,逼入绝境。通过对社会种族困境根源的探究,本文展现了美国社会表象背后的污秽状况和人性的污点。本论文在文本细读的基础上,用热内特叙述学理论和后现代主义理论,尤其通过叙述学中叙述时间、叙述频率、叙述结构、叙事性等概念范式分析小说的主人翁科尔曼·希尔克,同时还分析了人物福尼亚·法利和越战老兵莱斯特·法利以及戴尔芬·鲁的生活经历。小说分析通过叙述学手法展示了异端的情节和孤独冷漠的主题。本文以小说情节冲突为突破点,从叙述时序、叙事结构的非连续性、事件冲突的叙述性、叙述频率等四个方面讨论了《人性的污点》中的戏仿、互文、人物特征的不确定性以及含混等典型后现代主义特征。这种叙述不仅反映了主人翁复杂的内心世界,而且体现了后现代背景下人们孤独冷漠的生存状态,孤独成为后现代主义社会的产物。通过本文,叙述技巧的研究为表现作品的后现代特征提供了手段。透过小说的后现代主义特征,个体的意识自由和性格孤独冷漠表现更加明显。总之,叙述学理论被用来阐释一个主题:在工业生产背景下,人与人关系极端异化。人们丧失人性,活在冷漠孤独的世界里。只有回归自然和本真,人们才能得到心灵的净化;只有抛弃人性的污点,才能克服困难,丰富内心精神世界。
[Abstract]:Philip Ross has been nominated many times for the Nobel Prize in Literature and has become one of the most prominent writers in contemporary American literature. The novel "the stain of humanity" is one of the American trilogy ("American Shepherd" I married the Communists "). The novel takes the 1990s as the background, through the description of Coleman's realistic experience, it shows the conflict and opposition between race, identity, individual and times, opportunity and destiny. Coleman was convicted of racism because of the ghost incident. After Coleman resigned and his wife died, he was also exposed to the Pink News of Virginia. Eventually, Coleman was trapped by rumors, forced into a desperate situation. By probing into the root causes of social racial dilemma, this paper shows the filth behind the appearance of American society and the stain of human nature. On the basis of careful reading of the text, this thesis uses Genet's narratology theory and postmodernism theory, especially through narrative time, narrative frequency, narrative structure in narratology. Narrative and other conceptual paradigms analyze the protagonists of the novel, Coleman Hilk, as well as the life experiences of the characters, Virginia Farley and Vietnam War veterans Lester Farley and Delphine Lu. Novel analysis shows the heresy plot and the theme of loneliness and apathy through narratology. Taking the conflict of plot as the breakthrough point, this paper discusses the parody and intertextuality in "the stain of humanity" from four aspects: narrative sequence, discontinuity of narrative structure, narration of incident conflict and narrative frequency. The uncertainty of characters' characteristics and the typical postmodernism features such as ambiguity. This kind of narration not only reflects the complex inner world of the master, but also reflects the lonely and indifferent living state of people in the post-modern background, and loneliness becomes the product of post-modernism society. Through this paper, the study of narrative techniques provides a means to express the post-modern features of works. Through the postmodernism features of the novel, individual freedom of consciousness and loneliness and apathy are more obvious. In short, narratology theory is used to explain a theme: in the industrial production background, the relationship between people extreme alienation. People are dehumanized and live in a world of indifference and loneliness. Only by returning to nature and truth can people get the purification of the soul, and only by abandoning the stain of human nature can we overcome the difficulties and enrich the inner spiritual world.
