论海明威小说中对话的视觉化效果

【摘要】:视觉文化,也叫做视觉研究,是一个主要研究艺术、媒介和日常生活中的视像之文化建构的新领域,在这块研究领地和这门开创性的课程中,视觉图像是某种文化语境中意义得以生成的关键性要素。海明威的小说被公认为具有视觉化的特点,视觉化即指他的小说创作追求一种可见的境界,无论是对人物的描写,对风景的描绘,还是对事件的叙述都追求让读者身临其境的在场,用客观的视角真实再现故事发展与人物言行,不渗入自己的感情,不加进自己的评论,让读者自己发现、自己感受,让可理解的思想转变为可见的思想。由此可见,小说视觉化产生的效果是为读者营造出一种身临其境的感觉,让读者不是依靠作者的介绍或主观评论,不是被动地依靠作者,而是依靠自己设身处地的所见所想来认识小说。海明威在他的作品中非常追求这种能让人感到身临其境的现场感,因为这是调动读者积极性,让读者抛弃对作者的依赖,独立自主地理解作品的重要手段,而在营造现场感的表现手法中对话是一种十分重要又非常常见的表现手法。海明威用对话代替叙述,代替对人物内心世界的深入探索,使作者从文本中退出,使读者在文本中找不到作者的主观感受,单纯将场景和人物的表现以对话的形式表达出来,让读者从对话中得出自己的感受,将文本与读者的距离降到最低,还原了生活客观真实的面口。 本文从对话的客观性、对话的语言艺术和对话的视觉化效果三个方面具体阐释海明威小说中对话体现出的视觉化效果,三部分以对话为中心,各有侧重,层层深入,力求达到对海明威小说中对话视觉化特征的全面认识和深刻理解。本文正文分为以下三章: 第一章“对话的客观性”,从“旁观者的眼光”和“复调特色”两个方面论述海明威小说中对话所体现出的客观性。客观性是海明威小说最突出的特点之一,海明威在小说中用旁观者的眼光记录现实,采用展示的叙述方式,真实模仿现实生活中的对话,隐去自己的声音,以达一客观化的叙述效果,也使他的作品具备了复调小说的特点。第二章“对话的语言艺术”,从“简洁的对话”、“口语式的对话”、“准确生动的对话”三个层面论述海明威小说中对话的语言特色。海明威用字最大的特点就是干净简洁,他追求的是用简洁凝练的词句进行准确有力的描述,海明威洗练、简洁的白描手法将风景、人物、行动原原本本地搬到我们面前,不需要借助其他的感情渲染就能达到同样的效果。第三章“对话的视觉化效果”,从“现场感与戏剧性”、“人物形象个性鲜明”、“摄影机的冷峻眼光”三个层面论述海明威小说中对话的视觉化特色。在海明威的小说里,我们能够明显找到电影化的痕迹,在进行小说创作时,海明威为了达到最佳的模仿效果,除了退出小说前台,客观记录人物的语言行动之外,他还精心地营造真实的现场感,塑造富有个性的人物形象,同时用展示的语言介绍情节、人物,这种语言就像在模仿摄影机所代表的中立客观和毫无偏袒。
