[Abstract]:In the last two years, Kristina McMorris, a contemporary American writer, has published three novels set in World War II, namely, Love Letters in the Field of War, Red Leaf Bridge and Wonderland of Winter. All three novels are based on war. Love is a theme that vividly shows the love and hate entanglement between the protagonists. The first novel, Love Letters in the Field of War, became popular in the United States as soon as it was published, and was translated into a variety of languages. The copyright was transferred to more than 30 countries. Published around the world, McMurray has won literary awards from more than 20 countries and two Golden Heart nominations for conquering more than five million European readers and becoming the New York Times's best-selling work. In the analysis of the novel, due to the publication of the novel is relatively new, at present, there have not been any papers on "War Love Letters" as the text in our country, and there are not many papers on the analysis of other texts from the perspective of trauma theory. This paper will analyze the original works from the perspective of trauma theory combined with the trauma characteristics and performance of each character in Love Letters in the War. The paper is composed of introduction, text and conclusion. The text is divided into four chapters. The introduction briefly introduces the author and his main works, the main contents of Love Letters in the Field of War, and the evaluation of Love Letters in the Field of War at home and abroad. The first chapter is an overview of trauma theory. Firstly, the definition of trauma, the symptoms of trauma and the ways to cure trauma are expounded from two aspects: medical trauma and literary trauma. The second chapter analyzes the causes of the trauma of the characters in the text, mainly from the history of World War II, the social background and the emotional entanglement between the characters, the growing environment of the characters and so on, and explains that Leeds's mother ran away from home when she was young. The psychological impact of her father's apathy since then; Morgan's loss of his brother's painful memory on the battlefield; Julia's failure to wait for her fianc 茅 e to return, but the collapse of the news of his death; Betty fell in love with wounded Leslie on the medical team and suffered a mental blow because she concealed her family. The third chapter analyzes the traumatic symptoms and manifestations of each character in Love Letters in the War, including the family trauma suffered by Leeds in his childhood, and the escape, anxiety and blankness of his later emotional choices. Betty and Julia show depression, blankness and numbness in love trauma; in the context of the world war II era, Morgan and Charlie suffer from shock, guilt, sleeplessness, flashback and other traumatic symptoms. Chapter 4th explores the recovery of trauma. The characters in the book treat and resolve their wounds in different ways. The most obvious is that the characters communicate and talk to each other by letter. In order to achieve the goal of healing wounds, each protagonist finally achieved inner peace. The conclusion is that the characters in "Love letter in the War" communicate with each other through letters, thus defusing the psychological trauma caused by different reasons, finally achieving the effect of healing, making them more optimistic and positive to face life; It is pointed out that it is feasible to use trauma theory to analyze this text. On the one hand, trauma theory provides a new angle for readers to understand this work, and draws more attention to the works with the theme of war and love. At the same time, it has more positive significance to guide people's mind towards maturity and health.
