[Abstract]:Alice Walker is one of the most influential contemporary black women writers in the American literary world. She always knows and cares about the survival and fate of black women with keen observation and a high degree of social responsibility. She put forward the theory of "feminism" on the basis of feminist theory and black feminist theory. Purple, the masterpiece of Purple, has won wide attention and praise since it was published in 1982. In 1983, it won two awards, the American Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize. So far, many scholars have studied Purple in narratives, religion, psychology, and eco-feminism. This paper will be based on Alice Walker's feminism, with its anti-sexism, anti-racism, African-centrism and humanitarianism as the main line. To analyze the protagonist Xili's life process from trauma to independence in Purple. The thesis first reveals the heroine's sex as a black man in a patriarchal society and in a racist environment from a womanist point of view. The tragic fate and painful life of tools and family slaves, Having analysed the physical and mental trauma caused by these experiences, and then uncovering the racial and sexist phenomena described in the novel in the Americas and in Africa, and analyzing the role of these phenomena in the awakening of Celia, This paper summarizes the efforts made by Xili to combat sexism and racial discrimination, and embodies the anti-sexism and anti-racism ideas in the theory of feminism. Then the paper introduces the main forces that helped her to embark on the path of independence. This paper analyzes the great effect of sisterhood on the realization of the life value of Xili, analyzes the positive effect of homosexuality between Celia and Sarge on Xili's road to independence, and analyzes the encouraging effect of purple color itself on Xili's creation of a better life. This paper expounds the spiritual dependence and the skill of creating a better life brought by African traditional culture to Xili, and embodies the African-centrism thought in the theory of womanism. Finally, the paper analyzes the good life of Xili after gaining independence. She built her identity, built stronger sisterhood with other black women, relaxed relations with black men, and was able to live in harmony and equality between black and white people, and between human beings and nature in peace. Harmony, which is the ideal mode of life called by Walker, fully embodies Walker's humanitarianism. In Purple, under the double oppression of patriarchy and racial discrimination, the author thinks that by breaking through the obstacles, she has finally gained the independence of the body and the mind, and established her own identity, dignity, status, affection and love. To live the life she wanted. It was an expression of Alice Walker's sympathy and concern for the tragic fate of black women under the dual oppression of sexism and racial discrimination, and their strong support for the fight against sexism and racial discrimination. And the call and desire for a harmonious human life model.
