[Abstract]:Alice Walker is an outstanding representative of black women's literature in the United States. Her works have a wide range of subjects, rich content and profound themes. Most of her works reflect the love and hate of black women who are both oppressed by society and black men. Enthusiastically eulogize their indomitable vitality and their struggle for self-liberation and personality integrity. "Grandma's Daily use" is about the big city girl Dee returning to the country and a conflict between her mother and sister, which revolves around a few items of daily use. On the face of it, This is a contradiction and conflict relationship between women in ordinary black families in the United States; in fact, the author takes this as the background to fully reflect the racial conflicts and conflicts between blacks and whites. In this paper, the historical context of Grandma's Daily use is discussed from the perspective of New historicism. The thesis is divided into six chapters. The first two chapters introduce the writers' works respectively. The third chapter analyzes the historical context reflected by the three black women in the novel, and focuses on the historical and cultural identity of the three black women in Grandma's Daily use. We know that the mother of the extreme watchman of the black cultural tradition in the novel is also the representative of the independent black women, and the eldest daughter of the national culture and art, Dee, is also the representative of the national struggle. The youngest daughter of the family's historical heritage, Maggie, is also a representative of the history and culture of grief. The use of African languages and the inheritance of traditional black diets and household goods have made a historical analysis of African culture by describing the forgotten African culture. The author expresses the black resistance to the neglect of African culture by mainstream culture. Chapter five analyzes the conflict of historical and cultural concepts embodied in the works, which can be regarded as a means of historical construction. That is, the traditional life represented by mothers in the novel and the impact of the new ideas brought by the activist of the civil rights movement, the aesthetic concept of the black people itself is impacted by the aesthetic appreciation of the mainstream culture of the white people. And radical separatism and non-violent integration between the conflict. Chapter 6 is the conclusion. Based on the new historicist interpretation of Grandma's Daily use, this paper points out that the work shows the living state and spiritual world of the black people, and reveals the great impact of the white dominant American society on the traditional life of the black people. It shows the suffering of black women, the oppression they suffer, and their struggles and struggles in the black civil rights movement and the feminist movement. It shows how Alice Walker can better protect African-American culture. Carrying forward the black movement and seeking unity in the midst of sectarian conflict, The analysis of this paper also contributes to a deeper understanding of black traditional culture and black writers.
