《欢乐之家》中丽莉对家园的追寻

【摘要】：伊迪丝·华顿是十九世纪末二十世纪初美国一位重要的多产女作家。《欢乐之家》作为她最受欢迎的小说之一,受到了批评家们的极大关注。他们大多从女性主义视角、自然主义倾向等角度分析了女主人公丽莉·巴特的悲剧命运。本文将运用家庭系统理论,并结合华顿的怀旧叙事手法来论述丽莉漂泊的现状及她对理想家园的不懈追求。 本文共分四部分。第一部分为绪论,简要介绍了伊迪丝·华顿及其作品《欢乐之家》,以及国内外学者对其的研究现状。 第二部分为本文的理论依据,家庭系统理论及华顿的怀旧手法。家庭系统理论为分析《欢乐之家》中家庭成员的关系提供了理论依据。怀旧是对过去经历的一种复杂感受。作为调和过去与现在思想冲突的一种手段,它对自我感的形成具有重要作用。 第三部分为本文的主体,共分五个章节。以空间的转换作为一种新的结构来研究丽莉对家的渴望的转变与自我的形成过程。劳伦斯·塞尔登的单身公寓激发了丽莉对家的渴望。丽莉的伪我和她的表层怀旧使她相信实现拥有理想家庭梦想的唯一途径是嫁给一位有钱人。然而在百乐门,她的梦想破碎,她意识到自己只是这只金笼子里的寄生虫。当她在重重危机中重返赛尔登的公寓后,深层怀旧帮她走出旧我,重塑新我。随后她在妮其·克茵的厨房中感受到另一种全新的家庭系统及生命的延续。最后在宿舍里,她明白了一个充满爱和信任的家对她来说是不可能拥有的。她只能是在安眠药的作用下,感受幻想下的温馨之家。 第四部分为本文的结论,指出家庭及家人支持的缺失也正是造成丽莉悲剧的主要原因。
[Abstract]:Edith Wharton is an important prolific American woman writer in the late 19th century and early 20th century. As one of her most popular novels, Happy Homes has attracted great attention from critics. Most of them analyze the tragic fate of Lily Bart from the perspective of feminism and naturalism. Based on the family system theory and Wharton's nostalgic narrative techniques, this paper discusses the current situation of Lili's wandering and her unremitting pursuit of her ideal home. This paper is divided into four parts. The first part is the introduction, briefly introduces Edith Wharton and his works Happy Homes, as well as the current situation of research on Happy Homes by domestic and foreign scholars. The second part is the theoretical basis of this paper, family system theory and Wharton's nostalgia. The theory of family system provides a theoretical basis for analyzing the relationship of family members in Happy Homes. Nostalgia is a complex experience of the past. As a means of reconciling past and present thoughts, it plays an important role in the formation of self-feeling. The third part is the main body of this paper, which is divided into five chapters. The transformation of space is used as a new structure to study the transformation of Lili's yearning for home and the formation of her self. Lawrence Seldon's single apartment inspired Lili's desire for home. Lily's false self and her superficial nostalgia convinced her that the only way to realize her dream of an ideal family was to marry a wealthy man. However, at Paramount, her dreams were broken, and she realized that she was just a parasite in the golden cage. When she returned to Selden's apartment in a crisis, deep nostalgia helped her get out of her old self and reshape her new self. Then she felt another new family system and the continuation of life in Nicole Klein's kitchen. Finally, in the dorm, she learned that a home of love and trust was impossible for her. She can only be in the role of sleeping pills, feeling under the illusion of the warmth of the home. The fourth part is the conclusion of this paper, pointing out that the lack of family and family support is also the main cause of Lili's tragedy.
