[Abstract]:Among Henry James's many novels, the Golden Bowl is the best novel. Many critics pay attention to the international theme, moral issues and cultural integration in the novel, and the center of personal consciousness and narrative angle in this novel is also an interesting topic. James pays great attention to the psychological portrayal of the characters in his novels. His novels are unique and always reflect the social reality around the center of the influence of the occurrence and development of events on the inner hearts of the characters. The main characters in James' novels are rich in thought, delicate in emotion and outstanding in character. The description of the characters is mostly reflected by dialogue, detailed activities and psychological description. James's narrative view is unique and has made outstanding contributions to the formation and development of novel theory. James's narrative skills are also reflected in his creative practice. In most of James's works, he adheres to these principles, tries to unify the content and form as much as possible, and expresses the content in the most perfect artistic form possible. James made a series of explorations, experiments and innovations in expressing content and techniques in the process of changing from the traditional writing style to the modern one. This paper explores the artistic charm of James' novels through the analysis of his last novel, the Golden Bowl, in three parts. The first chapter analyzes the unique narrative angle of the novel and describes the hero and heroine as the center of consciousness to show the complex relationship between people. The second chapter introduces the meaning and three methods of constructing "scene system". Through dialogue, silence or inner monologue, James can directly describe the characters' psychology in the novel. The third chapter introduces James' language skills. Through the control of language, James achieved the indirect description of the character's psychology. This paper analyzes James' narrative skills in describing the characters' psychology, and selects some examples from his late masterpiece, the Golden Bowl, to prove the successful application of his novel theory in his creative practice.
