基于语料库的高中英语词汇教学效果实证研究

【摘要】:随着语言教学研究的发展,词汇教学的重要性不断得到国内外学者的认可。《普通高中英语课程标准(实验)》(2003)也明确指出了英语词汇教学的要求。然而,当前高中英语词汇教学依然面临诸多问题。作为现代信息技术的产物,语料库以其大量的信息存储、快速精准的计算机提取方式和真实的语境共现界面,为英语词汇教学提供了新的途径和研究视角。因此,本研究以词块理论、数据驱动学习理论和输入假说为理论基础,从实证研究入手,将语料库与高中英语词汇教学相结合,主要目的是验证语料库应用于高中英语词汇教学中的教学效果,以便寻求词汇教学的有效方法。本研究实验对象为石泉中学高二年级两个平行班,其中实验班(1班)采用基于语料库的词汇教学方式教授新单词;对照班(2班)仍采用传统教学模式教授新单词。实验结束后,两个班的学生都接受了针对本学期所学新单词的词汇测试以及词汇广度、词汇深度测试。同时,实验班还接受了基于语料库的词汇教学态度问卷调查。最后,数据收集起来使用SPSS进行分析。数据分析结果表明,无论在词汇成绩,还是在词汇广度和词汇深度上,基于语料库的词汇教学班级都要明显好于以传统词汇教学方法的班级。同时,词汇成绩的提升还促进学生英语综合能力的提高。数据分析结果还表明,基于语料库的词汇教学方能够激发学生的学习兴趣,同时还能够提升学生的自主学习能力。通过对本实验结果的讨论和分析,得出以下启示:基于语料库的词汇教学方法能够提高词汇教学效率,但在实际操作中,还应充分考虑学生的实际情况,合理利用语料库资源。
[Abstract]:With the development of language teaching research, the importance of vocabulary teaching has been recognized by scholars at home and abroad. However, high school English vocabulary teaching still faces many problems. As a product of modern information technology, corpus provides a new approach and research perspective for English vocabulary teaching with its large amount of information storage, rapid and accurate computer extraction and real contextual co-occurrence interface. Therefore, on the basis of lexical chunks theory, data-driven learning theory and input hypothesis, this study combines corpus with English vocabulary teaching in senior high school. The main purpose of this paper is to verify the effect of corpus application in English vocabulary teaching in senior high school so as to find effective methods of vocabulary teaching. The subjects of this study are two parallel classes in the second grade of Shi Quan Middle School, among which the experimental class 1) uses the corpora based vocabulary teaching method to teach new words, while the control class 2) still uses the traditional teaching mode to teach the new words. At the end of the experiment, the students in both classes were given vocabulary tests and vocabulary breadth and vocabulary depth tests for the new words learned during the semester. At the same time, the experimental class also received a corpora-based questionnaire survey on vocabulary teaching attitude. Finally, the data is collected and analyzed using SPSS. The results of data analysis show that the Corpus-based vocabulary teaching class is better than the traditional vocabulary teaching method in terms of vocabulary achievement, vocabulary breadth and vocabulary depth. At the same time, the promotion of vocabulary achievement also promotes the improvement of students' English comprehensive ability. The results of data analysis also show that the corpus based vocabulary teaching method can stimulate students' interest in learning and improve students' autonomous learning ability. Through the discussion and analysis of the results of this experiment, the following revelations are drawn: the method of lexical teaching based on corpus can improve the efficiency of vocabulary teaching, but in practice, the actual situation of students should be fully considered and the corpus resources should be used reasonably.
