专有名词泛化的认知研究

　　专有名词一般被认为是单一实体的表达式,与普通名词相对。然而,在一些语境中,专有名词失去了其所指的唯一性,逐渐偏离了其原有的意义,发生了语义扩展。众多学者从不同的角度对该现象进行了研究,提出了许多有见地的见解。本文在前人研究的基础上从认知语言学视角对此现象进行了研究,试图更进一步认识专有名词泛化,并探索这一现象的理论意义。 认知语言学认为,意义是百科知识性的,意义构建就是概念化。专有名词的概念结构由符号概念和类概念组成,概念结构的二元性成了专有名词泛化的语义基础。导致专有名词泛化的机制是隐喻和转喻。隐喻和转喻是我们赖以生存的思维、行为和说话方式。在专有名词泛化意义的构建过程中,有时不是这两种机制单独起作用,而是这两种机制相互作用,一步一步地构建了泛化后的意义。这一过程具有复杂性,动态性和灵活性。专有名词泛化的认知动因在于这一过程能用已有的简洁的语言符号表达新颖的或大量的信息,继而弥补语义缺口,实现语言和认知上的经济性。这个过程满足了人类的认知机制和经验组织方式。研究表明,不仅那些具有历史积淀义的专有名词能够泛化,其他的专有名词依靠转喻的视角化都可以泛化。研究进一步证明了语义的第一性,句...
