【摘要】：致股东信函作为企业年度财报的开篇报告，对企业上一财年的经营状况进行总结，并对来年的经营活动做出预测。随着经济全球化的发展和中国的入世，越来越多的中国公司在美国上市，这些中国公司须依照美国相关法规定期提交年度报告。西方学者多年来一直对这个领域进行着研究。这些研究对企业年报的解读提供有价值的见解，然而尚有许多工作要多。其中之一就是对年报进行系统的语言学研究。本文基于Swales及Bhatia的体裁分析理论和系统功能语言学的理论框架，借助语料库的研究手段，从宏观结构层面和词汇语法层面对致股东信函进行了定量和定性分析。笔者将首先总结出致股东信函这一商务语篇的语步特征。根据Halliday系统功能语言学框架下对概念功能和语篇功能的阐述，本文从及物性过程系统和主位推进模式两个方面分别探讨美国企业年报中致股东信函的语言学特征。笔者建立了由20篇致股东信函构成的语料库，语料库建成后，笔者标记出语料的及物性过程和主位推进模式，采用Wconcord语料库统计工具，统计出语料库中及物性系统的六种过程和各主位推进模式的出现频率及分布规律，分析其内在原因，旨在解释致股东信函中各种词汇语法机制的工作机理及其规律性，以及实现该类语篇概念功能和语篇功能的途径。通过比较分析，概括出此类商务语篇呈现这些特征的原因。最后，指出研究对相关人员的撰写和解读企业年报的帮助作用以及研究的不足之处。基于Bhatia模式的宏观结构分析，笔者建立了由四个语步构成的致股东信函的基本结构，并详细呈现出四个语步的步骤和功能。在词汇语法层面的研究主要从及物性和主位推进模式两方面进行。研究表明，从及物性角度而言，除行为过程之外，其他五种过程在语料中均有出现。其中大部分为物质过程和关系过程，心理过程相对较少，，言语过程和存在过程出现的频率很低。从主位推进模式角度而言，八种主位推进模式都应用于致股东信函这一体裁中。其中跳跃模式、主位同一推进模式和渐进模式应用最多。笔者希望此研究能够给该类语篇撰写者提供一些借鉴和启示，提高商务英语学习者在理解和撰写此类语篇时对宏观结构和词汇语法机制的把握能力，促进特殊用途英语教学。
[Abstract]:Letters to shareholders as a corporate annual report of the opening report, the company last year operating conditions are summarized, and forecasts the operations of the coming year. With the development of economic globalization and Chinese's accession to the WTO, more and more China companies listed in the United States, these Chinese companies should be in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations of America regularly submit annual report for many years. Western scholars in this field has been studied. The study of interpretation of the corporate annual report provides valuable insights, but there is still much work to be more. One of them is the linguistic research system of the annual report.
In this paper, the theoretical framework of Swales and Bhatia's genre analysis theory and systematic functional linguistics, based on research by means of corpus, makes a quantitative and qualitative analysis of letters to shareholders from the macro structure level and the lexical grammatical level. The author summarizes the characteristics of this language step in business discourse of letters to shareholders according to the description of the concept. Function and textual function of the Halliday system under the framework of functional linguistics, this paper from the two aspects of transitivity system and thematic progression patterns respectively discuss the linguistic features of letters to shareholders in the American corporate annual report. The writer established by the 20 letters to shareholders of the corpus, corpus is completed, the author Mark transitivity process corpus and thematic progression, using the Wconcord corpus statistical tools, statistics of six processes of transitivity system in the corpus and the patterns of thematic progression The frequency and distribution, analyzes the reasons, aims at explaining the mechanism caused by various grammatical mechanism of shareholders in the letter and its regularity, and the way to realize the ideational function and textual function. Through comparative analysis, summed up the business discourse shows these features. Finally, points out the research the relevant personnel of the writing and reading of enterprise annual help and the inadequacy of the study.
Analysis of macro structure based on Bhatia model, the author established the basic structure of letters to shareholders is composed of four moves, and presents the detailed steps and functions of four moves. In the study of lexical and grammatical level mainly from transitivity and thematic progression patterns in two aspects. The results show that from the perspective of transitivity in addition, the process of behavior, the other five kinds of process has appeared in the corpus. Most of them are material process and relational process, mental process appears relatively less, verbal and existential processes of frequency is very low. From the point of view of thematic progression patterns, eight patterns of thematic progression are applied to the development of letters to shareholders cut in the jump. The same pattern, thematic progression and progressive mode is mostly used.
The author hopes that this research can provide some references and inspirations for this type of text writer, so as to improve business English learners' mastery of macrostructure and lexical grammar mechanism in understanding and writing such texts, and promote ESP teaching.
